How do I take care of my pewter jewelry?

To preserve pewter’s shiny finish wash only with soap and water and dry with a soft cloth. Just like silver it will take on a satin patina over time from wear. Pewter is unique in that it does not tarnish; it will never turn black with age.

Gemstones durability depends on the stone in accordance with the Mohs Hardness Scale. Some such as amethyst, citrine, peridot, zircon, and tourmaline are quite durable. Stones such as pearl, opal, apatite, lapis lazuli, or amber are softer and can be scratched or grow dull in appearance if treated roughly.

Any painted pendant should be treated with care; by their vary nature it is possible to scuff the painted design through actions such as dropping the pendant onto concrete or throwing it in the bottom of a bag with keys.
